Ray Pfortner was over recently for a consultation. One of the things he suggested (well, actually it was more of a passing comment) was that birds on the wing tend to be more interesting than those standing on the ground. Here are some pictures of birds not flying:
While crossing the Sound earlier this week a couple of seagulls flew with the ferry most of the way from West Seattle. It was Golden Hour, just before sunset, and I happen to have my camera. Although it was windy and I was shooting from a moving boat, I think some of these came out pretty good. Here is a picture of a seagull on the wing:
